Vietnamese citizens advised to avoid unnecessary travel to Indonesia

The Consular Department under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised Vietnamese citizens to avoid unneeded travel to Indonesia as the country has raised the security alert status to the highest level following repeated bombings in Surabaya, East Java

The Consular Department under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised Vietnamese citizens to avoid unneeded travel to Indonesia as the country has raised the security alert status to the highest level following repeated bombings in Surabaya, East Java province, on May 13 and 14.

After the bomb attacks, the Indonesia government has allowed its competent forces to open fire to ensure security.

The Vietnamese Consular Department also recommended its citizens to keep a close watch on related information, while avoiding or restricting activities at public places in Indonesia until the situation stabilises to avoid any unfortunate danger or risk.

So far, no Vietnamese citizens have been affected in the recent bomb blasts, said the Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia.
