National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong, who is also head of the Organizing Committee for the 41st ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, made the comment at an online meeting with Vietnam’s delegation on Friday in Hanoi. This year will see the largest number of participating members, Ms. Phong said.
"Vietnam is trusted by international friends for its active participation in the 41st AIPA. This meeting has the most international friends in participation which also requires Vietnam to prove its rising diplomatic position in the world," said Vice Chairwoman Phong.
The 41st General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly will be held online from next Tuesday to Thursday, and will renew the commitment of ASEAN Parliaments to alleviate the impact of COVID-19 on people’s livelihoods.
