The 15th Association of the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Transport Ministers Meeting and the 28th ASEAN Senior Transport Officials Meeting will be held in Vietnam from Dec. 7 to 11, the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam said on Nov 26. The meetings will review the implementation of the ASEAN Charter and discuss the overall plan for the ASEAN Economic Community. Delegates will also discuss ways to enhance transport cooperation among member countries of the bloc and to build the ASEAN Transport Strategy for the 2011-2015 period. Apart from meetings among transport ministers and senior transport officials of ten member countries of ASEAN, there will be ministerial-level conferences between ASEAN member countries and other dialogue countries.
These conferences include the 8th ASEAN and China Senior Transport Officials Meeting, the 8th ASEAN and Japan Senior Transport Officials Meeting and the 1st ASEAN and the Republic of Korea Senior Transport Officials Meeting.
