The real-time RT-PCR bio-kits jointly made by the Military Medical Academy and Viet A Technology Joint Stock Company have been licensed by the Ministry of Health for mass production.

Vietnam will officially export a batch of 150 Covid-19 test kits to Ukraine and Finland this week
Phan Quoc Viet, director of Viet A Technology Joint Stock Company, said that over the past week the company had produced 5,000 Covid-19 test kits which are to be used at testing facilities in parallel with the biological kit made by the US Centre for Disease Control and the World Health Organisation.
The real-time RT-PCR bio-kits have received good feedback from users, Viet added, noting that his firm could produce 200 test kits a day currently, with a maxim capacity of 600 kits daily.
According to Viet, Iran had ordered 4,000 kits and Ukraine had ordered 300 kits, and Finland 100 kits. Meanwhile, many other countries such as Belgium, Australian, Poland, Nigeria, South Africa, Turkey and Ireland have also wanted to buy the kits.
Hanoi has also ordered 4,000 kits for use in the city and for donation to hospitals in Italy.
Each kit consists of 50 tests with each test being used for one person while the duration should last for a total of two hours.
Many medical facilities in Vietnam are being provided with training courses over the use of the real-time RT-PCR bio-kits. To date, up to 40 hospitals and disease control centres in Vietnam have registered to buy the kits.
Each test using the real-time RT-PCR bio-kits cost VND400,000-600,000 (USD17.39-USD26.08).
