The cases from abroad were confirmed in Quang Nam, Tay Ninh and Hanoi. Meanwhile, among 593 local infections, HCM City still accounted for the majority with 520 with 84 still under epidemic investigations. The others were Dong Nai (18), Khanh Hoa (15), Ba Ria-Vung Tau (11), An Giang (10), Phu Yen (8 ), Binh Phuoc (4), Ben Tre (2), Ha Noi (2), Thanh Hoa (2) and Tay Ninh (1).

Of the locally-infected cases, 409 were detected in quarantined and locked down areas.
As of 6 am on Saturday, Vietnam logged a total of 24,696 locally-transmitted Covid-19 patients and 1,912 from abroad. Since April 27, the country has witnessed 23,126 local infections.
Yen Bai, Quang Tri, Tuyen Quang, Son La, Ninh Binh, Thai Nguyen, Dien Bien, Hai Duong, Phu Tho, Nam Dinh, Quang Nam, Lao Cai and Thai Binh have gone through 14 days without detecting any new Covid-19 local infections.
The country has reported 110 Covid-19-related deaths; while 8,984 have been discharged from hospital.
Vietnam has administered over 4.01 million Covid vaccine shots, with 258,274 people having received two doses.
