Vietnam reports five more Covid-19 cases

Patient 117 is a 30-year-old man from Long An Province’s Tan Hung District. On March 9-19, he travelled to Cambodia and stayed at Phnom Penh’s Infinity Hotel. On March 16, he had symptoms of fever, cough and breathing difficulties.

A quarantine area for Covid-19 prevention in Vietnam


On March 19, he returned Vietnam through Moc Bai Border Gate in Tay Ninh Province and was then suspected by Tay Ninh International Health Quarantine Centre. He was immediately sent to Tay Ninh General Hospital for testing and treatment.

Doctors at the hospital said that his X-ray images showed lung damage.

Patient 118 is a 23-year-old woman from the southern province of An Giang’s Chau Phu District. She has a case history of chronic bronchitis.

She went to Cambodia to work for a casino. On March 19, she returned Vietnam through Moc Bai Border Gate with Covid-19 like symptoms. She was then taken to Tay Ninh General Hospital. She has also suffered lung damage.

The 119th patient is a 29-year old male US citizen who is staying in HCM City's Binh Thanh District and working for a local company. On March 1-15, he travelled between Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand. Returning to Vietnam, he went to work, took part in sports and visited entertainment spots. On March 19, he suffered a fever and cough. One day later, he was quarantined at FV Hospital.

The 120th patient is a 27-year old Canadian man who is working as a foreign language teacher in HCM City. He had close contact with the 91st patient. Before being monitored, he had visited restaurants and entertainment facilities in HCM City.

The 121st patient is a 58-year-old man who returned HCM City with his wife from New York City on March 19. Right after landing at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, they were sent to a quarantine area in Can Gio District.
