Among 801 local infections, 725 were found in quarantined and locked down areas.

Vietnam's new Covid-19 cases on the rise
HCM City had 603 locally-infected cases, followed by Dong Nai (72), Dong Thap (36), Phu Yen (18), Khanh Hoa (18), Ba Ria-Vung Tau (17), Hanoi (11), Hung Yen (10), An Giang (8), Ninh Thuan (7), Dak Nong (1).
Meanwhile, 76 cases in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and HCM City are still being placed under epidemic investigations.
HCM City is the epicenter of the country’s fresh outbreak, witnessing more than 2,000 cases for the first time on July 14.
As of 6 am on Thursday, Vietnam logged a total of 36,280 local infections and 1,959 others from abroad. Since April 27, Vietnam has recorded 34,710 locally-infected Covid-19 patients.
Yen Bai, Quang Tri, Tuyen Quang, Son La, Ninh Binh, Thai Nguyen, Dien Bien, Hai Duong, Phu Tho, Quang Ninh, Hoa Binh and Bac Kan have gone through 14 days without any new local infections.
Six deaths were announced on July 14, raising the national death tally to 138.
