A 71-year-old woman with Covid-19 has died, becoming the country’s 62nd Covid-19 death.
According to the Ministry of Health, the patient is from Chau Thanh District in the southern province of An Giang. The patient had faced the underlying medical conditions of tuberculosis, high blood pressure, and diabetes for 10 years.
On June 2, the patient entered Vietnam through Moc Bai International Border Gate along with her daughter and granddaughter. After that, she tested positive for Covid-19 and was treated at Ben Cau Medical Centre. Her condition quickly got worse with the respiratory failure.
On June 11, she was given a ventilator and more intensive treatment methods. However, the respiratory failure continued worsening, causing her respond poorly to the treatment. She died on June 14.
This is Vietnam’s 27th Covid-19-related death in the country's fourth Covid-19 wave which started from late April this year.
