The 28th session of the Vietnam-Cuba Inter-governmental Committee for economic, scientific and technological cooperation was opened in Havana on September 23-24.
The session was jointly chaired by Mr. Nguyen Hong Quan, Vietnamese Construction Minister, Chairman of the Vietnam-Cuba Cooperation Subcommittee and Mr. Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Chairman of the Cuba-Vietnam Cooperation Subcommittee.
The two sides took the occasion to review the implementation of projects reached at the earlier sessions and talked about measures to consolidate and boost the bilateral ties in such fields as economics, trade, science and technology.
Both Vietnam and Cuba assessed that the trade turnover was modest and inappropriate with respective potentialities and fine political relations.
The two Chairmen highlighted their determination to back their business circles to seek business and investment opportunities.
Vietnam is ready to shake hands and support Cuba in all aspects, especially agriculture, education and training, said Mr. Quan.
