A group of Vietnamese students in the US call for help to return home

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, by the directives of the prime minister and Vietnamese agencies, from mid-April, Vietnamese agencies in the US have worked together to set up a list of Vietnamese people that want to return home, most of them are the elderly, students under 18 years old whose dormitories have closed, people with underlying conditions and other disadvantaged cases.

However, due to complicated procedures that involved various US agencies, Vietnam Airlines isn’t capable of providing the flights as hoped.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Transport, and Vietnamese agencies in the US are working to help Vietnam Airlines with procedures and find solutions to get Vietnamese people home as soon as possible.

Since many people have arrived and stayed at San Francisco Airport to wait for flights, Vietnam General Consulate in San Francisco has sent employees to help with accommodation and necessities. Those who want to return to Vietnam were asked to keep following preventive measures and advice in the host country.
