Vietnam logs 44 more Covid-19 infections

A total of 44 more Covid-19 cases were recorded in Vietnam in the past 12 hours to 6am on Tuesday, including one imported patient, the Ministry of Health has reported.

A total of 44 more Covid-19 cases were recorded in Vietnam in the past 12 hours to 6am on Tuesday, including one imported patient, the Ministry of Health has reported.

Of the 43 locally-infected cases, 22 were confirmed in Bac Giang, 15 in HCM City, six in Bac Ninh and one imported case in Quang Nam. 

Most of the patients in Bac Giang and Bac Ninh are related to local industrial parks and those in HCM City are linked to the Revival Ekklesia Mission - a Christian church in HCM City’s Go Vap District. Meanwhile, investigation is underway for one case in Bac Ninh and another in HCM City.

By 6am on Tuesday, Vietnam reported a total 7,445 locally-infected Covid-19 patents and 1,582 imported ones. The number of new infections from April 27 reached 5,875 cases.

Fifteen provinces namely Yen Bai, Quang Ngai, Dong Nai, Nghe An, Quang Ninh, Quang Nam, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Dak Lak, Nam Dinh, Hoa Binh, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Son La and Ninh Binh have seen no Covid-19 patient over the past 15 consecutive days.

As of June 7, 1.34 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered nationwide, with a total of 38,166 people fully vaccinated with two shots.
