According to a report from the ministry, the patient is struggling with the last stage of kidney failure and hypertension before contracting Covid-19. She died at the Hoa Vang Healthcare Centre on the morning of September 3.
The cause of her death has been determined as septic shock, chronic kidney failure, hypertension, and pneumonia caused by Covid-19.
There are now seven other Covid-19 patients who are in critical condition in hospitals nation-wide, the ministry said, adding that most of them are elderly people in Danang City who have other serious health problems.
As of the morning of September 3, Vietnam had 1,046 Covid-19 cases, including 746 recoveries and 35 deaths.
