Vietnam confirms 10 new imported Covid-19 infection cases, total reaches 1,377

According to the ministry's report, eight of the newly found patients are Vietnamese people who returned from Russia at Cam Ranh International Airport in Khanh Hoa Province on December 5.

They were sent to a local quarantine area upon arrival and tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on December 7.

The patients are now being treated at Ninh Sim Healthcare Centre in Ninh Hoa District.

The next patient is a 32-year-old Turkish man who arrived at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCM City on December 6. He was also sent to quarantine upon arrival and tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on December 7. The patient is now being treated at the Cu Chi Fields Hospital for Covid-19 patients.

The last patient is a 35-year-old Vietnamese man who returned from Japan at Danang International Airport on December 6. He was sent to a quarantine area in Quang Nam Province upon arrival and tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on December 8. He is now being treated at the Quang Nam General Hospital.

With these new infection cases, the number of imported Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 683.

As of 6 pm on December 8, a total of 1,224 Covid-19 patients had recovered and been discharged from hospital. There have been 35 deaths, most of them being the elderly with serious underlying diseases.

At present, over 20,262 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned from virus-hit areas are being monitored at hospitals, quarantine facilities, and at home.
