A Vietnamese delegation led by Assistant to Foreign Minister Nguyen Ngoc Son attended the meeting of national representatives to the International Francophone Organisation (OIF) in Paris on October 28.

The event aimed to discuss the implementation of OIF’s co-operation programme for the 2010-2013 period and put forward initiatives for drawing up OIF’s strategic framework from 2015 to 2014 and a four-year co-operation programme for the 2014-2017 period.

FM Assistant Son delivered a report reviewing the implementation of OIF’s co-operation programme for the 2010-2013 period and other co-operation programmes in Asia-Pacific, especially projects on French language teaching, technical and professional training, legal and judicial co-operation, and youth activities.

Son also put forward preliminary initiatives to map out OIF’s 10-year strategic framework and a four-year co-operation programme.

Earlier on October 27, Son attended a meeting hosted by OIF to discuss measures to diversify partnership between OIF and international and regional organisations such as the United Nations; the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States, the European Union, the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation as well as other bilateral partners such as the French Development Agency and Canadian International Development Agency.

On the occasion, Son paid a courtesy call to Abdou Diouf, General Secretary of OIF and met with C. Duem, OIF Director to discuss co-operation between Vietnam and OIF in the near future.
