
Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh at the royal cremation ceremony for the late Thai King in Bangkok
The King passed away in October 2016 aged 89 and Thailand has observed a year of official mourning before holding the five-day funeral beginning on October 25.
King Bhumibol Adulyadej made great contributions to the development of Thailand and was considered a symbol of national unity during his reign and the King commanded great love and respect in Thailand.
The cremation of the late monarch took place late on October 26 in Bangkok's historic Sanam Luang area and was chaired by his son King Maha Vajiralongkorn.
The ceremony was attended by all of the Thai royal dignitaries and government leaders and representatives from 42 countries across the world, alongside an estimated 250,000 people from across Thailand.
Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh and the leaders of other countries laid wreaths to show their respect and grief for late king Bhumibol Adulyadej and then witnessed royal and religious rituals performed during the ceremony.
The Vietnamese Vice President expressed her deep condolences to the royal family, the government and people of Thailand. She wished that the royal family, the government and the people of Thailand will soon overcome their pain to continue to build Thailand into a more prosperous country according to the wishes of late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
