Vu Van Tu, head of the National Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention, stated the storm’s danger zone is currently located at 15 degrees latitude north.

The steering committee, the Ministry of Defence, and the General Department of Fisheries coordinated to ensure all ocean-bound vessels and ships have been instructed to seek shelter.

Border guards had alerted almost 60,000 vessels carrying around 300,000 fishermen and crew by 6AM on October 31.

The Steering Committee has also issued two telegrams asking coastal localities in Quang Ninh to Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa to prepare for Typhoon Krosa’s landing. The National Committee for Search and Rescue and the Ministry of Defence has mobilized nearly 2,000 cadres and soldiers, supported by 257 vehicles, to prepare for any possible emergencies.
