The Aviation Administration of Vietam said yesterday that South Korean police had detained two Vietnam Airlines (VNA) crew members for concealing 6 kg of gold in their shoes.

The two Vietnam Airlines crew members of flight VN426, travelling from Hanoi to Gimhae, South Korea, were caught as they went through the security gate at Gimhae airport on March 10, after their flight had landed, a South Korean newspaper reported.
Flight attendant Nguyen Tuan Phong had concealed two gold ingots, and captain Nguyen Van Dung had concealed four gold ingots. Each ingot weighed approximately 1kg.
South Korean authorities have not given Vietnam any official details for the moment, a spokesman for Vietnam Airlines said.
The Aviation Administration of Vietnam and Vietnam Airlines are continuing to follow the case.
