Two of six missing foreign hikers found in Philippines

Rescuers on March 21 located two of the six foreign nationals who went missing while hiking in a volcanic mountain in central Philippines.

However, police have yet to release their names or conditions, stating that they are still verifying the report.

The missing hikers include three German men, aged 67, 60, and 58, a 38-year-old Russian, a 63-year-old Briton, and a 50-year-old Canadian. They set off at around 8 am local time on 19 March to climb Mount Talinis, southwest of Valencia town in Negros Oriental province.

They were reported missing on 20 March after failing to return to their rental house. Local authorities launched a search and rescue operation the same day.

Mount Talinis, a complex volcano, stands approximately 1,903 metres above sea level. It is the second-highest peak on Negros Island, after Mount Kanlaon./.
