The projects with a total capacity of 110.8 MW are both located in Vinh Chau Town.
Vo Van Chieu, director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, said that work on the Lac Hoa Wind Power Plant's first phase was started in December 2019 with investment of VND1.45 trillion (USD62.5 million). Once the second phase of the project becomes operational, the project would contribute a total of around 160 million kWh to the national power grid.

Meanwhile, the 129-MW Quoc Vinh Soc Trang Wind Power Plant is also divided into two phases. The first costs VND1.42 trillion and the second VND3.9 trillion.
Soc Trang has licensed 18 wind power projects, four of which have been put into operation, while seven others are being built.
