Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Truong Tan Sang, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, other leaders and former leaders, and representatives of the diplomatic corps paid tribute to the late national hero.
"The more time that passes, the greater Uncle Ho\'s thoughts have become and the more his moral example has shown its value," said President Sang during a visit to the house where Ho Chi Minh lived from 1954 until his last days in 1969.
The house is now inside the grounds of the Presidential Palace at the heart of Hanoi\'s Ba Dinh District.
Also on the occasion of Vietnam\'s National Day, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and his wife held a banquet for ambassadors and the heads of foreign representative offices in Ha Noi yesterday evening.
On behalf of the international guests, Moroccan Ambassador El Houcine Fardan, head of the diplomatic corps, congratulated Viet Nam and said the country would manage to overcome these difficult times.
During the banquet, the international community made a strong commitment to supporting Vietnam in its pursuit of socio-economic development goals.
