Traffic ban in HCM City for international marathon

Traffic will be banned from many streets in Ho Chi Minh City centre this weekend for the Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon 2021.

Traffic will be banned from many streets in Ho Chi Minh City centre this weekend for the Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon 2021.

According to the municipal Department of Transport, all vehicles will be banned on Nguyen Binh Khiem, Le Duan streets in District 1 from 12:00 pm April 10 to 12:00 pm the next day.

Drivers to these streets will be directed to follow two alternative routes of Nguyen Huu Canh, Ton Duc Thang, Dinh Tien Hoang, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai; and Le Duan, Ton Duc Thang and Nguyen Huu Canh.

From 4 am-9 am on April 11, all vehicles will also be prohibited on some sections of Pham Ngoc Thach, Vo Van Tan, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Cong Xa Paris, Dong Khoi, and Ton Duc Thang streets.

Also from 4 am-9 am on April 11, two-wheel and three-wheel vehicles will be restricted from the mixed lane on the section of Vo Van Kiet Street.

Drivers are advised to slow down and obey the instructions of traffic control forces or traffic signal systems.

Those who need to travel to and from the affected areas during the limited time frames can contact the Department of Tourism directly at 140 Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street in District 3 or via (028) 3824 2903 for support.

The annual Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon will see runners compete in four races, including a full marathon at 42.195km, a half-marathon at 21.1km, a 10km race, and a 5km race.
