On the afternoon of August 10, a representative of the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Ward Police told Dantri that an incident had occurred in the railway cafe street area, where a female tourist holding up her phone to film a passing train was struck by the train and had her phone sent flying.
The incident occurred around noon on August 7 in the railway cafe street area, the representative said.
"Fortunately, no one was injured. We are working to identify the tourist," the official said.

Police in the ward have recently worked with other authorities to educate visitors and address crowds gathering in the railway cafe street area. Authorities have also dealt with businesses operating in violation of regulations, but the problem has persisted because of a lack of awareness among some visitors and residents, the representative said.
Earlier that day, a video lasting nearly one minute appeared on social media showing crowds gathering along the railway cafe street to take photographs and film trains passing through the area.
In the footage, a woman was sitting close to the railway tracks, holding her phone out to film. A train suddenly approached and struck the phone, sending it flying away.
