This year's National Day holiday will last four days, starting August 31. This is the last long holiday of the year and marks the end of the summer tourist season, so many parents are taking advantage of the opportunity to travel with their children before the new school year.

According to Nguyen Van Phuc, director of the Thua Thien-Hue Department of Tourism, the local tourism sector is eager to welcome visitors. Tourism firms and service providers have been urged to offer more products to visitors and promote their services on the department's website, at visit hue.vn, or social networks.
The department will intensify inspections of tourism services during the holiday.
Tourists are advised to visit Thua Thien-Hue's official information channels and read reviews and feedback from other travellers as references for their tours.
Nguyen Thai Hoa, Chief Inspector of the Thua Thien-Hue Department of Tourism, said the department launched two hotlines, 0234.3501111 or 0234.382.8288, to assist tourists.
In the first half of this year, Thua Thien-Hue served 1.95 million tourists, up 24.7 percent on-year, including 821,290 foreigners, up 42.6 percent on-year.
