Three people have died in a fire that burnt down a convenience store in the southern province of Dong Thap early Friday morning.
Police in Chau Thanh District reported that the fire occurred at Bay Tien Convenience Store in An Khanh Commune on the early morning of October 28 when six people were still sleeping. The owner of the store, Bui Thi Yen Suong, 33, her husband and son managed to get out of the building via a fire escape where they were rescued by the fire police.
However, her brother-in-law and two friends were stuck inside.
It took the police nearly three hours to bring the fire under control. They found three bodies inside the building.
The fire also caused an estimated VND 4 billion in damage. Dong Thap Police is further investigating the cause of the fire.
