A report from the Thai Thuy District People's Committee said that the accident occurred at a house construction site in Diem Dien Town on Tuesday afternoon when a group of 13 workers were casting a concrete slab for the second floor.
"The 50-square-metre floor suddenly collapsed when the workers were working on it," the report said. Two men aged 63 and 49 were found dead in the debris while a woman aged 42, died shortly after being taken to the hospital due to serious injuries. Five other injured workers have also been sent to hospital.
Thai Binh Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
