The Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam on December 19 organized a national seminar on the East Sea in Ha Long, Quang Ninh Province to evaluate the situations of the East Sea in the new international and regional contexts and identify policy issues for Viet Nam.
The event, chaired by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Quang Vinh, attracted the participation of more than 70 delegates and specialists on the East Sea issues from ministries and agencies.
This is the third national seminar on the East Sea held in 2018, which creates an opportunity for specialists and policy-makers to share information and researches on the Easy Sea as well as assess situations, trends, role of laws, international standards and multi-lateral and bilateral cooperative mechanisms.
Delegates also reviewed and analyzed policies and proposed new initiatives to protect sovereignty and security to promote cooperation for peace and development on the East Sea.
At the event, 14 speeches were presented, focusing on issues related to the East Sea, peaceful measures to address international disputes and cooperative prospects between nations in the East Sea.
