Tan Son Nhat Airport
Deputy Director of the department, Nguyen Huu Hung announced on January 9 that people entering the city including overseas Vietnamese returning for the Tet Holiday would be required to show a medical declaration in their departing country before boarding the plane. They also need to show vaccination status certificates or confirmation that they have recovered from the disease within six months.
According to the official, people entering the city must follow some steps for Covid-19 prevention upon arrival.
As soon as getting off the plane, they need to use the PC-Covid application to create a personal QR code. The code can be generated at the HCM City Covid-19 Safety Portal at https://antoan-covid.tphcm.gov.vn.
Second, people are required to take a quick Covid-19 test at the airport. If the result is positive, they will have samples taken for RT-PCR testing for confirmation and transferred to a field hospital for isolation and treatment. If the results are negative, they can leave the airport but must go straight to their place of residence which they have declared to local authorities.
People who have fully vaccinated against Covid-19 vaccines or have recovered from the disease must self-monitor their health at their places of residence for three days. Those who have not been vaccinated or have not received enough doses of Covid-19 vaccines shall be isolated at their places of residence for seven days.
The Government Office has agreed to add HCM City to the list of localities to pilot the welcome of foreign tourists.
The city has seen marked decreases in the numbers of Covid-19 cases, deaths and hospitalised patients over the past weeks.
