Ten more imported Covid-19 patients confirmed, total rises to 1,202

According to the ministry's report, eight of the new patients aged between 7-51 returned from Russia at Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh Province on October 31.

They were sent to a quarantine area in Hung Yen Province upon arrival and are now being treated at the Hanoi-based National Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

The two other patients are two women aged 20 and 47 who returned flew from Angola to Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh Province on October 20 and were quarantined in Bac Ninh Province upon arrival.

They are now being treated at the Bac Ninh General Hospital.

With these new infection cases, the number of imported Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 511.

As of 6 pm on November 2, a total of 1,069 Covid-19 patients had recovered and been discharged from hospital. There have been 35 deaths, most of them being the elderly with serious underlying diseases.

The country has gone 62 days without reporting any new case in the community.

At present,14,775 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned from virus-hit areas are being monitored at hospitals, quarantine facilities, and at home.
