Under the CAAV’s decision, the frequency for Tan Son Nhat is 48 flights per hour between 6 am to 11.55 pm between February 10-20, four flights higher than previously. From midnight until 6 am, 36 flights will operate an hour.

After that, the frequency will be reduced to 30 flights per hour.

Domestic airlines added 251 flights on popular routes on February 6-12 to keep up with a surge in travel demand. After Tet, many flights to Tan Son Nhat have run out of tickets.

The CAAV has asked airlines to strictly conform to slot regulations. Carriers are only allowed to use their allocated slots and urged to conduct more flights at night to avoid congestion.
