According to CAAV, between December 16 last year and June 15, 2025, there were 49 bird strikes in flight zones. The period also saw 59 drone-related incidents disrupting flight operations, six ground vehicle collisions with infrastructure or personnel, and 24 cases of aircraft targeted by laser beams.
To prevent bird strikes that threaten flight safety, CAAV has asked the Airports Corporation of Vietnam to assess bird strike risks and intensify control measures across all airports.
CAAV has also directed airports to review records related to bird, wildlife, and domestic animal control, and to report and propose appropriate measures for issuing aeronautical information notices on bird activity within and around airport areas.
The Northern, Central, and Southern Airport Authorities have been instructed to implement measures for controlling and dispersing birds, wildlife, and domestic animals at airports and airfields.
CAAV has also asked to strengthen flight safety inspections during peak periods at high-traffic airports including Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, Danang, Cam Ranh, Phu Quoc, and Vinh.
