South Korea will provide US$100,000 worth of emergency aid to central Vietnam, which was devastated by recent flooding, the foreign ministry said.

South Korea will provide US$100,000 worth of emergency aid to central Vietnam, which was devastated by recent flooding, the foreign ministry said Saturday.

The humanitarian aid will be delivered through the Vietnam Red Cross and help restore flood-hit areas and supply relief goods to victims, it said.

The Vietnamese authorities say extensive downpours earlier this month left 102 people dead and 38 others missing. More than 660,000 people face shortages of food and daily necessities.
