Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Duong Thai, told Dantri that social distancing will be imposed in the province beginning midnight on February 15.

"The social distancing will last 15 days," he said.

On January 28, the province imposed social distancing on Chi Linh City after a cluster of infection cases were reported at a local company.

Despite efforts from local authorities to contain the virus outbreak, more patients have been confirmed in other localities in the province.

As of 6am on February 15, the province has reported 475 patients including 234 cases in Chi Linh City.

The outbreak has spread to 72 out of 235 communes in the province.
