People are encouraged to take products home, instead of sitting at coffee shops and restaurants.

Service providers in Hanoi also need to strictly apply Covid-19 prevention rules such as hand wash use and temperature check.

According to the directive, local residents should only go out in necessary cases. They have to wear face masks in public places.

The city has decided to suspend all festivals and religious ceremonies as well as other mass gatherings. People are not allowed to hold year-end or new-year parties.

Wedding and funeral events need to ensure Covid-19 prevention regulations.

Earlier, all bars, karaoke parlours, and nightclubs in Hanoi were asked to close from February.

Since January 27, Hanoi has detected 21 Covid-19 community transmission infections.
