Filipino crew member gets help
Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center then asked the Maran Taurus to head to Danang City and told the local search and rescue centre to be ready to help. Doctors said Samorin might have acute appendicitis and need urgent treatment as his condition was getting worse.
A high-speed boat reached the Maran Taurus at 1.45 am on March 22 to bring Samorin to hospital. The centre is working with other agencies to complete necessary procedures as Samorin was brought to the mainland nearly eight hours later.
This is the second rescue carried out by the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Co-ordination Centre near Paracel Islands this month.
