Security forces attack Bahrain protesters: witnesses

Bahraini security forces attacked demonstrators camped out in a square in central Manama square overnight Wednesday, several witnesses told AFP.

"They attacked the square where hundreds of people were spending the night in tents," said one witness, 37-year-old Fadel Ahmad.

Explosions could be heard a few hundred metres (yards) from the square, which had been sealed off.
