Police in Hanoi took the Deputy Director of BIDV in Hai Phong into custody under suspicion of being involved in the bribe of Doan Tien Dung, Vice General Manager of BIDV.
According to information from high-ranking police in Hanoi, a search warrant was also issued for Le Thi Thanh Binh, 37, Deputy Director of BIDV in Hai Phong, for suspicion of her connection with Doan Tien Dung, Vice General Manager of BIDV to accept a bribe worth billions of Vietnamese dong (tens of thousands of US dollars) from a textile business operating in Hai Phong.
Representatives of BIDV confirmed its suspension of Doan Tien Dung and Le Thi Thanh Binh and stated that this issue is Dung’s responsibility, unrelated to the BIDV Corporation and its Board of Management.
