The Vietnamese team failed to score in their match against Myanmar on November 6, although it played with one more team member than their opponents from the 59th minute in the second half.
Both teams created scoring opportunities in the first 30 minutes, then Vietnam started attacking and dominated the match while Myanmar was hard put to defend and try to secure a point.
Defender Quang Anh managed to get the ball into the Myanmar goal after receiving captain Thanh Luong’s right corner kick in the 38th minute but it did not count as he was ruled offside and the game ended in a 0-0 draw.
With four points after two matches, Vietnam and Myanmar share first place in Group B, followed by East Timor with three points, thanks to their win against Brunei.
