
The 1.2-kilometre dyke in Cam Nhuong Commune, Cam Xuyen District has faced erosion many times. Currently, the erosion in the section running through Hai Nam Village is spreading, affecting nearby roads.

The locality had to use a large amount of rock to consolidate the dyke after being eroded In the rainy season last year. However, high tides and big waves have continued damaging the dyke.

Vo Xuan Thanh, 60, who lives near the dyke, said that his family often feels worried during the rainy season.

The dyke was built in 2003 with a total length of 1.2 kilometres.


According to Nguyen Van Hung, chairman of Cam Nhuong People’s Committee, extreme weather in recent years and climate change have caused frequent erosion of the embankment route.
