Sukhoi aircraft is designed to carry up to 95 passengers. It claims a competitive edge over rivals like the Embraer E-jets and Bombardier CRJ (Canadian Regional Jet) in terms of lower investment and operating costs. It is offered at the price of about US$35 million.
Yury Slyusar told the press that promotion of Superjet 100 in Vietnam and the South East Asian region can be explained by the route network and the model of transportation in the countries that is suitable for this type of aircraft.
UAC is also considering to open in Vietnam an aircraft service and maintenance centre for the whole Southeast Asian region. The move aims to expand UAC’s operation in emerging markets in order to bring its revenue from civil aviation service up to 50% in the coming years.
