The 1.3-kilometre rice road runs along Xa No Canal in Vi Thanh City.

The road runs along Xa No Canal in Vi Thanh City and depicts Vietnam’s journey from being an importer of the grain to becoming the world’s second-largest exporter.

Around 20,000 rice pots featuring premium varieties such as OM 5451, RVT and ST 25 are displayed along the road.

A Vietnam Map formed by various rice varieties across Vietnam is also showcased on the road.

The festival also includes an exhibition featuring different kinds of rice, products made under the One Commune One Product Programme, delicacies made from rice, and machinery and drones that serve rice production, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

According to Ngo Minh Long, director of the Hau Giang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the first ten months of this year, Vietnam exported 7.1 million tonnes of rice with a total value of USD4.7 billion.
