Unlike typical buffalo horns that extend outward, the animal’s horns grow from the temples, curve forward and gradually close into a symmetrical circular shape, creating a striking and rare appearance.
The buffalo’s owner, Vo Truong, 68, said his family has raised the animal for more than 10 years. He described it as healthy and strong, noting that it has given birth to more than 10 calves and is currently pregnant.

According to Truong, the horns showed signs of abnormal growth from an early age and gradually curved into their current shape naturally, without any human intervention.
“Each year the buffalo gives birth to one calf, which can be sold for VND 15-20 million. This animal has helped my family maintain stable income,” he said.

Truong added that all calves born to the buffalo have developed normal horns, with none inheriting the unusual shape.

Vo Thi Nhien, who takes care of the animal daily, said the buffalo eats well, moves easily and remains strong and agile despite its distinctive horns, with no impact on its ability to work.
Many visitors have come to Trung Chanh Village in Tam My Commune to see the buffalo, expressing fascination and surprise at its rare appearance. Truong said several people have offered to buy the animal, but he has no intention of selling it.
