According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the central region has experienced temperatures of up to 41 degrees centigrade over the past few weeks.

The forest fire in Ha Tinh
The heat has worsened forest fires in the central region, particularly in Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Binh and Ha Tinh provinces.
The centre reported that the central region would continue suffering from the hot weather today, July 1. However, on July 2-4, central localities from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien-Hue provinces would have heavy rains and strong wind by late afternoon.
Authorities have still warned about the risk of forest fires in the central region in the coming days.
High UV levels have also been predicted to hit many localities amid the heat, posing health problems.
In the past three days, wildfire has broken out on over 200 hectares of forest in Huong Son, Nghi Xuan, Hong Linh and Cam Xuyen districts. The fire in Nghi Xuan District continues occurring again periodically. Some 60 hectares of protective forest has been destroyed.
