On the evening of December 21, the Nam Hoa Church on Dat Thanh Street, Tan Binh District saw few visitors.
Mrs. Pham Thi Hoa said that the church used to attract lots of visitors around this time in previous years.
"The atmosphere is so quiet this year," she said. "We’re not organising any large events this Christmas following warnings of the virus spreading."
Christian families in Bac Hai Street, Tan Binh District only arranged simple decorations at their homes.
Nguyen Long Van in District 1 said this was her daughter's first Christmas so she took her to some places to see the atmosphere.
"We only took a short trip to some public places and then came back home early due to Covid-19 fears," she said. "There were not many activities being held this year and the atmosphere was very quiet."
Binh An Church in District 8 minimally decorated this year for Christmas.
