Tien's house reduced to a pile of rubble.
Returning to his hometown after the storm ended, Nguyen Duc Tien was shocked seeing his home had been reduced to a pile of rubble. Tien's family was already one of the difficult cases in the area. Both Tien and his wife do not have stable jobs. Tien lost an eye due to work accident and the other one is getting worse.
Dantri's editor-in-chief Pham Tuan Anh sent encouragement and transferred VND20m of readers' donations to Tien.
Tien sent his two children to a relative's house and peel acacia bark for some money. He can only clean up the site of his house during his free time.
Nguyen Van Duan, chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Hanh Tin Commune transfers the donation to Nguyen Duc Tien.
"When my employer called I go to work immediately to make money to take care of my children. I don't have time or money to rebuild the house," he said. "The adults can make do with anything but my children are still too small. The oldest is in fourth grade and the youngest is in the kindergarten."
Tien and his wife, Truong Thi Nhi, were moved by the donation.
Nguyen Van Duan, chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Hanh Tin Commune, thanked the donors for helping Tien's family.
"Your support is really meaningful. I want to thank everyone that provided help to difficult cases in our area," he said.
