President Tran Dai Quang and his spouse are going to pay State visits to Egypt and Ethiopia from August 23 to 29.

The trips will be made at the invitation of Ethiopian President Mulatu Teshome and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi had paid a state visit to Vietnam in September 2017 following an invitation from Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang. That was the first visit by an Egyptian President to Vietnam since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1963.
Vietnam established diplomatic relations with Ethiopia on March 23, 1976.
