Ha's car in airport accident
HCM City police decided March 31 that Nguyen Duy Tan, 25, from Nha Be District, should stand trial.
On the evening of February 10, Tan drove a car owned by Ha’s husband to Tan Son Nhat airport to pick her up after her overseas shows.
When Tan arrived at the airport, he stopped in front of the airport arrival terminal and left the car to help carry Ha’s luggage and did not turn off the engine. He tried to brake the car when he saw it rolling forward, but allegedly hit the accelerator, plowing into a crowd outside the airport.
The car injured 16 people, including two foreigners, before crashing into two other cars.
Nguyen Van Ngach, 61, from Can Tho City, later died of his injuries in hospital.
Tan Binh District police investigated the accident.
The car’s owner has visited the injured and provided them with a combined financial support of nearly VND450m.
Tan, the driver, will be prosecuted for “violating road traffic safety regulations.”
