The event will attract the participation of more than 500 enterprises operating in wood and foreign and domestic agencies.


According to the Viet Nam Administration of Forestry, forestry exports in the first seven months of 2017 witnessed a growth of 14% against the same period last year while forestry imports slightly increased by 0.4%.

The nation gained more than US$681 million from exporting forestry products in July, raising the total figure in seven months to US$5.025 billion, equal to 55.83% of the year’s plan and accounting for 22.6% of the agricultural exports.

The sector enjoyed a trade surplus of US$3.77 billion. The exports of wood and wooden products reached US$3.52 billion.

The U.S., China, Japan and the Republic of Korea were the largest forestry importers of Viet Nam in the first half, making up 78.5%. Other markets saw high growths such as Malaysia (US$52.3 million, up 109%), France (up 24.8%) and Australia (up 14.8%).

Viet Nam’s forestry imports in July were estimated at US$170 million, raising the total import value in seven months to US$1.24 billion, up 0.4%.
