Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and his delegation were welcomed at Paris-based Charles de Gaulle International Airport by COP 21 Organizing Board representatives, French Ambassador to Vietnam Nguyen Ngoc Son along with numerous embassy staff.
Immediately after their arrival in Paris, PM Dung and delegation members laid a wreath at the memorial to late President Ho Chi Minh City in Montreuil and visited embassy officials and employees and Vietnamese community representatives in France.
On November 30, the government leader is scheduled to attend the high-level plenary meeting of COP 21 together with roughly 150 heads of government of the countries in the world together with senior officials from international organizations.
PM Dung will deliver a keynote speech confirming Vietnam’s strong political commitment to international efforts to respond to climate change by taking concrete actions nationally and internationally.
During the two-day conference, Dung is to have bilateral meetings with leaders from different nations and international organizations aiming to seek opportunities for collaboration and support in climate change adaptation.
He will also co-chair a high-level dialogue on coping with climate change in the Mekong Delta with the participation of leaders from regional and partner countries and the World Bank (WB).
