The Kien Giang Province's Maritime Administration announced on Friday morning that the express boat service between Rach Gia, Ha Tien and Phu Quoc, Nam Du, and the ferry service to Hon Son have been suspended.

There are currently 30 boat trips to Phu Quoc daily, and passengers who have bought tickets during this suspension period can get refunds or exchange them for other days.

The operator of the express boat service connecting Vung Tau City and Con Dao Island in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province has also announced that service will be suspended on September 7 and 8 due to bad weather.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, super Typhoon Yagi is making landfall north of the Gulf of Tonkin by the morning of September 7, causing strong winds and heavy rain.

The southern sea area from Binh Thuan to Kien Giang will also experience rain and strong winds, which will cause waves to rise two to four metres high.
