The judges dismissed Hong Sok Hour’s bail and said the Senator would be kept behind bars because of concerns he would reoffend and cause “social disorder”.
Hong Sok Hour was detained on August 15 for posting on social media a document distorting the 36-year-old border agreement between Cambodia and Vietnam.
On August 18, the Phnom Penh Court reached a verdict to arrest him for forgery, misuse of false document and disrupting national security. The Senator could face 17 years behind bars if impeached.
